F is for Firsts

I know I'm behind on the challenge, but I wanted to put up some pictures from our first few days with the RV, and bring you up to date.

First picture of the Dream Catchers logo on the back of the RV:

First night in our RV: Spent comfortably in the Nexus manufacturer's parking lot, hooked up to electricity. We were snug as bugs in a rug, had heat, which we needed because the night was cold, hot water, the works! The next day or two was spent with us running back and forth to Walmart and the Nexus folks making some small adjustments to the RV for us.

First time driving:

which one is the brake?

You've got to be kidding!! I can't drive this thing!

Well, okay, I can drive it, but not in traffic!
First set up in a real campground, on our own, all by ourselves. Thank heavens RVPainter knew (more or less) what to do:

I did it! I just hope I didn't confuse the water hose with the sewer hose!
TaDa!

My official inspection declares everything to be in order!
First breakfast in the RV - this morning:

Another Ta Da! Moment

When we first got to the Elkhart Campground yesterday afternoon, we got out our sewer and water hoses and paraphenalia so we could hook up. We thought we were doing pretty good. Then a nice fellow came over and said that if we needed help to just holler and if we didn't, to just tell him to get lost. He said he could tell we were Newbies by the way we were "Fiddle-farting" around with stuff. So there's another F word for you, feel free to use it!

It may be hard for me to post the next couple of days, as they are doing some more stuff on the RV tomorrow, and Tuesday we start to head back to Santa Fe. I'll try to post if I can!

  7. So loving all the pics...you guys are doing great! I remember buying my Class C and having to drive it home from Ocala, FL to middle TN - via Atlanta. I just kept it between the white lines and repeated endlessly, "Let them flow around you....". LOL!

    1. I don't feel very brave. I feel pretty chicken about it!! we're going to have me do highway driving and let Dick do the around town stuff for a while. We may have to swap seats quickly in scary circumstances!!

  10. Faffing is perhaps a politer way of describing fiddle-farting. It is also an f word. And you may be a little behind on the A to Z challenge, but so far ahead on the life challenge. Excitement. Fear. Mixed.

    1. Thanks my friend - I like Faffing - it's like a short-cut for Fiddle-farting. You're so kind. Thanks for the supportive words.

Thanks for all the great pictures. The logo looks great. You both look like you are enjoying yourselves. Look forward to more pictures and hearing about your new adventures. I like that new saying, "Fiddle-farting." I'll have to try that one on my hubby and son and see what they say, LOL. Happy Easter!
