My World

In my world, aka Melissa Land, we would all drive cars like this:

That way, if we bump into each other, no one will get hurt. We'll all get great gas mileage too.

In conjunction with the Wee Little Car Ordinance, we would also implement my Road Infrastructure Vision:

*One set of roads for us in our Wee Little Cars, and another road system for trucks, motorhomes and buses. Then the Wee Little Cars wouldn't have to worry about getting smooshed by the Big Old Trucks.

*Around densely populated areas, we might have a Double Decker Road System, with the Big Old Trucks on the bottom and the Wee Little Cars on the upper deck. (So the Big Old Trucks can't fall on us!)

As you can see, I have given this some thought!

In Melissa Land, everyone would also have a garden. But that's another phase of my plan, and I'd like to get this road system thing nailed down first.

By the way, that is a 1969 Fiat that we saw in the parking lot at Panera today.

  3. What a cute car. All it needs is a small band of rubber around the outside and we could use them as Dodgem's :-)

Melissa Land sounds like a good place to live. I just don't think tall people could drive little cars like that. Their knees would be up under their chins. : )

    1. You are very welcome in Melissa Land. In Melissa Land, writers are considered more fabulous than movie stars. :)

  6. This is great! I was just telling my husband about how I think cars and trucks should always have separate roads. He said that was impractical. He must've meant, impractical but *important* though! I'm totally on board with your plan!

    1. Hi Emily! Ha! Now we have a movement afoot! Men often let the PRACTICAL get in the way of the INSPIRED! I'm sure you are right about his interpretation :). Anyway, I still think it's a great idea and I'm glad you're with me on this!

  7. Dear Melissa, I've been away from reading and commenting on blogs for several weeks and it's good to return and discover that you have settled in a new place--Melissa Land. I can see that I'd enjoy being there. I surely enjoyed the world you created in "The Christmas Village" and I'm so looking forward to its sequel. Peace.

    1. Hi Dee! Good to "see" you! I am working hard on the sequel and I'd say it's 85% done. Of course there is editing and revising, but I've been doing some of that as I go along. I am still hoping it will be out this year - that might be a matter of $$ but my husband says we need to make it happen!
