Off to a Good Start!

I am already feeling more myself now that we have started to settle in to our new surroundings. It helps that the weather has been mostly lovely and the surroundings are beautiful.

Most of all, I find that now that we are back into more "normal" routines, my creative juices are flowing like crazy! I seem to be more productive when I have a variety of things to do.

On early-up days, we sit outside and watched the sun rise, and I've been scribbling and sketching in my journal. I've been inspired to write some poems, and the emotions beneath our many experiences last year seem ready to come up and find their way into my writing.

My plan this year is to offer my blog at least once or twice a month to support other writers and help them promote their work. So, if you have a book coming out, or a blogging event, or would like to expand your reach with guest posts, just drop me a note.

I hope that 2013 is getting off to a good start for you too, and that it will bring you productivity, creativity and prosperity of every kind.

    1. Thanks Paul - I think sometimes life has to divert your attention for a while so you can come back stronger - that's how it feels now.

  3. Watching the sunrise sounds lovely. Are you planning to share your poems?

    1. Annalisa, I do plan to share my poems in one way or another - I'm thinking of maybe creating a book of poems to go with my photographs. I may enter some into contests or send to anthologies - or whatever! I probably won't put them on the blog first, as many contests or publications require them to be "unpublished" and some include publishing on a blog as "being published." So ... we'll see! But it feels great to be working on them.

  5. Hi Melissa,

Sounds like you have some great goals for 2013, how generous to want to help other writers in their quest to be published. I hope you have a happy year.

    1. Hi Maria, hope your year is wonderful as well. If you know of writers who would like to promote their efforts this year, send them my way.

  6. Dear Melissa, your offering to use your blog to help all of us who are writing books is so generous. Thank you. I do have a book being published by Wayman Publishing late this year. So I hope to get in contact with you then about it.

I'm wondering if you ever read "A Cat's Life" or "A Cat's Legacy." I think you did but so much of life seems to be a swirl for me now! If you did, however, and weren't able at the time to write a review for each/both on Amazon, I would so appreciate your doing so. The senior editor at Wayman has told me that readers are influenced by the number of reviews for a book and I have only 22 for "A Cat's Life" and even fewer for "A Cat's Legacy"--8.

In writing the above I suddenly wondered if I'd ever left a comment on Amazon for your book. I went and looked and saw I haven't so I'll do that today!!!

    Peace,
    Dee

  7. Hello dear Melissa! I am SO happy for you...happy that you are getting settled in your HOME. I'm like you. I need my routines and if I was traveling constantly, I would feel as if I was vacationing constantly....and that wouldn't work for me. Although the first couple of months would be heavenly! :)

I really admire your adventurous spirit (and your Mr. RVPainter!) for following your dreams at that time, and also for knowing when to come home.

PS It's funny to read about guest bloggers, because I just asked for some in last night's post! (and I swear I hadn't read yours first!) Although, at this time I don't want any products being marketed. I'm just looking for great posts, written about just anything! Please stop by and join in, because I KNOW you'd be wonderful!

    1. Thanks my friend. I really did feel like we were vacationing constantly and it was GREAT but I can't do it forever either. I need to come home. things are working out well. I don't think of myself as adventurous, but I'm more so than I give myself credit. Maybe sometime in a while I'll do a guest post, but I'm still settling in to normalcy and I need more time for that!
