E is for Elkhart and F is for Finally!

Just a quick double-duty post to let you all know that our flights went ahead as scheduled to get us into Fort Wayne, Indiana last night. This morning, we drove up here to Elkart and have spent the day becoming acquainted with our new RV home. Tonight we sleep in it for the first time!! We had shipped some sheets and quilts ahead of time, but had to go buy pillows and a few other things.

There is MUCH to learn (thank heavens RVPainter has been educating himself for quite some time), but I am far less anxious and worried than I was before we left yesterday. I think I was more worried about all the things that can go wrong with air travel!

In any case, we are here safe and sound and we sleep in our new home for the first time tonight. It looks really cozy in there.

I'll try to get some pictures up soon - we've been going like gangbusters all day with getting oriented and then putting our clothes and such away. Tomorrow we practice DRIVING - Good Lord, Everyone - LOOK OUT! For sure we'll have pictures of that!

Thanks for all the words of support as we started our journey, and I hope that by Sunday or Monday I'll be able to return your visits.

  14. Ooh, how exciting - we had the best time when we visited Canada, BC, from the UK in 1999. Your journey sounds like it will be fun. Will you be writing fiction on the way? From another A-zer, and another children's writer, Liz. I'll put a link to my A-Z blog in case you are interested - Blogger insists on identifying me as the blog I share with other children's writers. http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com
