AND AWAAAAAAAAY WE GO!

It's the A to Z Challenge!

If you are old enough, you'll remember the immortal Jackie Gleason starting his weekly variety show with the words, "AND AWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY WE GO!"

Since it's the start of the April A to Z Challenge, AND it's the start of our Big RV Adventure, this seemed like the perfect "A is for" post. Gleason always accompanied that line with a little dance-like movement involving the arms and legs - I couldn't find a picture of The Great One himself doing it, so RVPainter stepped in to demonstrate:

The April A to Z Challenge will indeed be a CHALLENGE for me this year, because we are on the move! Wednesday we fly to Elkhart, Indiana to get our new RV and then we will be figuring out how to live in it and DRIVE it - LOOK OUT EVERYONE!! So, my ability to post will be influenced by our access to WIFI, but when we've got it, I promise pictures and updates. I'll do my best to post every day, and if you're visiting me from the Challenge, I promise to come by your place when I can! And you can see what a fun guy RVPainter is, so stop over to his blog too - he's not in the challenge, but he'll make you laugh. Find him HERE

  9. You should be able to write posts ahead of time and schedule them to post automatically; that way you won't have to rely on wifi. But it does require planning. Love the picture, it made me laugh.

  10. To the moon, Alice.
Have fun in Elkhart. They have the RV/Motor Home Hall of Fame there. It's right off I-80 and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it ("Stick THAT up your butt, Canton, with your fancy-schmancy Football Hall of Fame. And, Cooperstown? Yeah, up yours, too! We have the RV Hall of Fame!").
    Enjoy the adventure.

  13. OMG, Melissa, your hubby is a riot!! That's my kind of person. Crazy and funny! And to "allow" you to put his antics right here on your blog! Very cool! Have a wonderful adventure....I'll be right there with you, vicariously, reading both blogs!

  15. I remember that show...I never really got the humor, though. Even back in those days I couldn't figure the women out. They seemed unlike any women I'd ever met. No woman would ever be threatened with a punch. But there were funny moments - mostly with Norton. I liked him.

Good luck with learning all the tricks of the road. What a great experience!

  24. I love the photos of Richard....too funny. You were the one who introduced me to the A to Z challenge and I got three other friends to join in. What a blast this is going to be.

I'm doing flash fiction, words picked at random, photos found to inspire, then max of 10 sentences and min of 100 words. I love that there are so many different approaches to the A to Z. I'm calling it 10 by 10.

BTW, I'm picking out one commenter at random and adding them to my list to follow. Too many to do otherwise...

  25. Sounds like a blast! One of these days, Alice!

By the way, there's a plethora of Starbucks around the states, so you can always stop by, get your coffee on. They all have WiFi.
