Counting Down the Days

Well, in spite of our run-in with the Dictator Director of the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Saturday, we actually had a delightful long weekend. There's no new news on the cemetery-walking-can-you-or-can't- you front, (of course you can!!!) but we'll let you know how it all plays out. Thank you all for your cheers and your vocal support.

Over the weekend, when we weren't causing trouble, I wrote some and RVPainter painted some and we  rested some and went to movie and out for a mocha and packed up some more stuff and threw away some more stuff. Where does it all come from?

We aren't heading out to get the RV until April 4th, but I only have 29 more work days. (Not that I'm counting.) That's because I only work 3 days a week, lucky me. I love my job at YogaSource and I'll miss everyone here very much. It's just that counting my work days makes for what looks like a nice small number before it's time to go. Smaller than 72, which is the number of ACTUAL days. I think. Unless my calculator messed up. Blame the calculator.

The sun is shining in Santa Fe and the sky is bright blue. Nice day for a walk :-)

Hope you all have a great week!

  2. DW - we'll be walking again B4 ya know it!! I hope we hear back from the many we wrote to, including our Congressman and the VA. I'm betting these people do not respond very quickly. I'd love to talk to an ACLU lawyer - cause I'm betting our Civil Rights are being violated. I'm sorry but I'd like to kick this guys A double S!!!

  5. I always enjoyed my visits to Santa Fe and often wondered what it would be like to live there. I especially loved the desert winds. As I recall they were different from the desert winds we get here. Hope you enjoyed your walk.

  6. Inger, the weather is quite lovely here - summers are just beautiful. Winters are pretty too, because even though it does snow and get cold, the sun shines so much and is so strong that it usually warms up. The winds in spring can be annoying though.

  7. We went to the drive-in theatre this weekend. The winter hours are much more attractive, the first show starts at 7pm and we were out of the double feature by 11:30pm. We had a bright, sunny day here but didn't get out in it much . . . maybe tomorrow.

  9. Sally: I haven't been to a drive-in in years! What fun. It warmed up nicely here today.

    Sandie, I am SO ready!

  10. You sound like a couple of kids planning your next adventure! Good for you :-)

We had a very unseasonable (but extremely welcome) 60 degrees here in western Pennsylvania today.

You have a great week, too!

  11. Thanks Teresa! We are like a couple of kids. Weather's been nuts - but I'm always grateful for a warm day in winter! P.S. I'm feeling sweeter today (though we aren't done with the Cemetery Ghoul).

  12. Hi Melissa! Holy Cow, where have I been? I just realized I've missed about 4 or 5 of your newest blog posts! I just read your two about the cemetery and also RV Painter's! How weird is all that?!
And ...gee...only 29 more work days! Ahhh, I wish I could be a stowaway on your trip! :)

  16. It's good to meet you. I'm here via your appreciation of Kath's comment to Elephant's Child. What a circuitous path we follow, rather like yours through the graveyard. I just read your earlier post and I am amazed that anyone would dream of saying you can't walk through a cemetery. It's one of my favourite 'recreationa;' past times. What better place to walk and to be reminded of life and it's trasitory nature, to learn about those who've come before etc etc. I'd complain loudly about this 'fascist' type instruction.

I'm pleased to meet you. Like Kath, I'm from Australia but I'm afraid I lack her brilliant sense of humour, though I certainly appreciate it, too.

  17. Hi Elisabeth - thank you for visiting, and for understanding our outrage about the cemetery. It's just as you said! I love Aussies and seem to gravitate toward befriending them here in the blog world. Megan from A Storybook World did a wonderful review of my book last fall. So good to know you.

Wily - hope you get some warm weather soon :-)

  21. It is fun to count down the days! I bet it feels good to get rid of clutter too. Your new journey will be starting before you know it. Have a great day!

  22. So excited for you. I think I told you, that is something I'd really like to do (RV, not get thrown out of cemetery).

  23. Hi Al, well, I hope you get to do the former and not the latter!

Tracy Jo - After a while you become totally ruthless and start getting rid of EVERYTHING. Sometimes I have to be careful not to throw away stuff I actually need...
